B@TS funding initiative of the BMFTR

With the funding initiative “Research and Development in Battery Technologies for Technologically Sovereign, Competitive, and Sustainable Battery Value Chains” – B@TS for short – the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) is strengthening cooperations between industry and science. In the medium term, these collaborations should enable Germany and Europe to technologically independently manage the value cycles of various battery technologies, particularly lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells. The initiative’s website uses BecoSearch to display all B@TS projects on a competence map.

Battery 2020 (Transfer) funding initiative of the BMFTR

The Battery 2020 (Transfer) funding initiative is a continuation of the initiatives launched in 2009 by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) on batteries. Its goal is to advance material and process developments along the entire value chains for rechargeable electrochemical energy storage devices (secondary batteries) that can be used in electromobility, stationary storage, and other industry-relevant applications such as forklifts, tools, and medical technology. BecoSearch was integrated into an external website for the first time on the Battery 2020 (Transfer) website. All Battery 2020 (Transfer) projects are displayed on a competence map.

Bayern Innovativ GmbH

The TechHUB Batterie of Bayern Innovativ GmbH coordinates activities and stakeholders in the Bavarian battery ecosystem. As a neutral platform of the Free State of Bavaria, the TechHUB is the central point of contact for networking and initiating cooperations in the broad field of batteries. Bayern Innovativ uses BecoSearch to present Bavarian companies, research institutions, and other players, as well as their projects that are funded by federal ministries.

SynBatt funding initiative of the BMFTR

With its funding initiative SynBatt (Increasing efficiency and exploiting synergy effects in battery cell production for electromobility) the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) supports research projects on efficient battery cell production with closed material cycles. The focus is on innovative design concepts, new materials and processes for resource-efficient manufacturing, and recycling technologies. All projects funded by the initiative are listed on the SynBatt website with the help of BecoSearch.
